If you were planning a trip to the Mountains to view the Fall colors Saturday is the Day, with high temperatures in the mid to upper 70’s along the Front Range and a few degrees cooler in the Mountians and a 10% chance of showers this afternoon, it should be a very pleasant day for most outside activities. Gusty Southerly winds are expected Saturday afternoon, gusts could reach 35MPH across the Eastern Plains and Palmer Divide.
Big Changes Sunday with cloudy skies and a forecast High Temperature of 63 Degrees and a 40% chance of showers, thunderstorms could develope in the afternoon. Overnight Sunday the chance of rain increases to 60% with temp’s in the lower 40’s. The Models continue showing remarkable consistency so maybe we will actually get some much needed rain in Denver Metro. The first Winter Storm Watch of the season has been posted for mountain areas west of Vail Pass as well as the San Juan Mountains. Up to 10 inches of snow could accumulate by Sunday night around Vail, Aspen, Telluride, Lake City and Ouray.
The Cool Cloudy Wet weather remains in the forecast through Monday with a forecast high temp of 57 degrees and a 50% chance of precipitation. It is going to be a chilly morning for the youngsters waiting for the bus or walking to school. The overnight low for Monday is forecast to be 38 but we know it will be lower in the valleys. Time to find that extra blanket for the bed and locate the winter cloths and coats, I know it is not winter yet but it will feel like it!
